Coach Nick Boorman Coaching Bio - 

Coach Boorman became the third Farmington High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach in 2019.  The team won the 2021 LL State Championship and has a record of 57 wins, 18 losses, and 13 draws since he took the helm.

In 2021 Farmington High won the LL State Championship.  Farmington is a size L school but the players voted to move up to LL to prove they could compete against the best.  The team was voted unanamously #1 in Connecticut and ranked in the top 5 in New England. 

In 2020 with regional play only due the COVID-19 pandemic, the team had an undefeated season, won the regular season regional championship, the postseason regional championship, the sportsmanship award, and Coach Boorman was named regional coach of the year. 

In 2019 The Farmington Soccer Team made it to the LL state semifinals, finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the Connecticut Coaches Poll, and defeated two teams that were ranked in the top 25 in the country. 

Coach Boorman credits this success to phenomenal players who bought into representing the great town of Farmington at the highest level by always conducting themselves with high character, great team unity, and leaving every ounce of effort on the field.

Prior to coaching the FHS Boys Varsity Soccer Team, Coach Boorman was the FHS Boys Soccer assistant varsity coach while coaching the JV team for one season and freshman team for three seasons. During that time the freshman team’s record was 35 wins 5 losses and 3 ties and the JV team´s record was 14 wins and 1 loss.  The varsity team won the 2016 LL State Championship.

Before Farmington High School, Coach Boorman was the Granby High School Girls Varsity Head Coach in Granby, MA.  After five seasons the team’s record was 75 wins 14 losses and 6 draws.  The team won four consecutive league titles, a Western Massachusetts Championship and Sportsmanship Award.  Coach Boorman received honors as the Western Massachusetts Coach of the Year, Western Massachusetts Sportsmanship and Conduct Coaches Award, and coached three Senior All-Star games.

Coach Boorman spent two seasons as the Eastern Connecticut State University Women’s Soccer Team Assistant Coach.  He also enjoyed coaching many successful soccer teams at the youth and premiere levels since 2005. In addition to soccer, Coach Boorman has coached ice hockey at the high school level.  He was the head coach of the Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks High School Team for eight seasons winning a state championship, accumulating over 100 wins, two time Connecticut Coach of the Year, and multiple conference championships.

Coach Boorman received his bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching.  He received his master’s degree from Ohio University in Athletic Coaching.  In 2023 Coach Boorman recieved his UEFA C License, Scottish FA C License, and the highest diploma from the United Soccer Coaches Association- Master Soccer Coach and Leader.  He has earned multiple coaching diplomas through the United Soccer Coaches Association including Advanced National Diploma, National Diploma, 11v11 Formations and Systems of Play Diploma, Striker Play Diploma, and Goalkeeper Training Diploma.  

He teaches health and physical education at West Woods Upper Elementary School.  He and his wife Monica (also a soccer coach) have two sons Jake and Jordan- all of whom are Farmington Soccer Super Fans.
